A letter from yourself 10 years ago

Time Travelled — about 10 years

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hello. I feel so weird. I think you'd most probably be confused as to why this suddenly pops up in your email. If you still are on birthday excitement, let me break it down for you-right now, I (you or me ,doesn't matter) sent a letter to the future, specifically ten years ago. Happy 27th birthday by the way! You may be smiling at this letter, even thinking about what even happened all those years ago. To many people, ten years would seem a long time ago but I know that to both of us, it is nothing compared to the grand scheme of things in the universe. Enough rambling though. I am very curious to know how ten years has shaped us up. I hope to the high heavens that you didn't marry, and I would really be severely disappointed in myself if I managed to enter married life without travelling the world once, or even just enjoying myself. We are rather uptight folk, so you have my blessings if you get yourself so drunk you have a hangover. Right now, I am preparing for the final exams. You may remember the panic, but I am literally living it right now. My grades are slipping, and my straight As are slipping to Bs. You know, the weirdest thing is that your life is in my hands. Ah, time is such a wonderful thing. Seriously though, don't remain a bachelor. I may not enjoy the thought now, but I do know that solitude is depressing. If you've set your sights on a girl who can tolerate your weirdness and understands you better than you do yourself, JUST DO IT! Ah, reference to Shia LaBeouf right there. Do you still have the dry wit and eye rolling that I use now? Or are you just frustrated that you can't seem to do anything? I really hope you have the gadgets of the future and somehow end up at your dream job. If you're still at it keep going! You'll get there someday, if not now. Wow, another weird thought. Everyone in my family would be older than me right now, ten years later. Even my toddler cousin would be in college. Whew, mindblown! Finally though, if you've lost someone, don't wallow in sadness. The ones who love us never truly leave us. That's from Harry Potter, but the gist is, life is too short to not keep your loved ones closer to you. Take time off to spend a moment with them. As Steve Jobs once said, 'Stay hungry, stay foolish.' Mini-You
