A letter from September 25th, 2015

Dear FutureMe, It's 2:40 am, I can't sleep. Ian is upstairs asleep with Shine and I didn't want to go back upstairs because he has work tomorrow and has to be up at 5. In October Ian and I will be living together a year and by November Shine will be 1! Hopefully by the time you receive this you forgot that I even wrote this. Ian and I always said we'd be thinking about kids by the time we were 30. I wonder where you're living now, if Ian is happy with his job, and you don't have to worry about money anymore. I wonder if the stress of college or visas seems so far away. I hope our parents are doing well. I wonder if Greg and Melissa have split up or if Nancy ever found someone. I hope Ian is happy and Shine is healthy, I love our little family just the way it is right now here asleep in Spaldwick. Oh, I wonder what your guys careers are! Do you still love popcorn or did you get sick of it? I hope you're still friends with Ben and Imogen, and I hope you had a great second wedding (and that mom didn't make you have one at the 2016 family reunion). I hope you learned to cook more and Ian learned to put things back in the fridge after he took them out. Mostly I hope you're happy, you're debt free, you took some risks (and they paid off), and you love the family that you have and never take them for granted. I hope you still think of Grandma and how much she loved us. I hope Debbie's surgery made her all better. I hope Skyler does well and Mom is with someone who makes her happy (or gets a kitten). I hope you love yourself at 30 years old. Did 10 years go by quickly? I hope you are living a long and happy life with Ian and Shine, and keep on being that crazy happy silly girl. When you were 17 you wanted nothing to do with settling down, you just wanted to party. That was 3 years ago, 10 years will be crazy. Ask yourself if you still want your ashes to be made into a pot plant haha. What are the cool kids saying these days? Yassssssss ;) Does the future have intelligent AI, flying cars, hover boards, legalized weed? I'm getting tired now but love yourself, make yourself laugh, go bother Ian. Don't let your dreams be dreams, just do it
