A letter from December 20th, 2012

Dear FutureMe, Twelve years ago you were sitting here at your computer after finishing your first semester of medical school. You wanted to be a cardiothoracic surgeon when you were coming in, but now you're having some serious doubts after block two. By now you should be coming close to the end of your residency and fellowship. Well, did we make it? Are we that hand surgeon who liked block one or neurosurgeon who adored block three? How is Ben doing? Have you made sure to keep in contact with your only remaining family? Life six months ago was so scattered, but upon entering school its all slowly coming into focus. Have we made the most of it? I hope so. Make sure you keep in contact with Alison and Nate. They're in our living room right now, playing smash brothers.
