Hello, me who hopefully owns a flying car by now. And happy birthday, Ma*** MiddleAge.
Let me tell you all about the 10th of June, 2012.
I just turned 26 years old.
I've just started 101 Things in 1001 Days for the second time.
I'm in the middle of a Screen and Media course at Wollongong TAFE, at which I'm doing quite well.
I have -$13000 to my name. Yes, that is a negative number. See, I bought a car last year on my credit card, and got fired from my job a month later. Since then I haven't had a full time job. Things are really bad. I can't even sell the car, since I need it to get to the casual job I do have.
My favourite band is The Beatles, however my favourite song is Valerie by The Zutons. Remember the Liverpool Sound concert in 2008? That was awesome, eh? It's still pretty fresh in my mind, even if it was 4 years ago.
I currently weigh approximately 115kg. Not good, I know. The last time I was this weight, I was 18 years old. But I've just started dieting again - this time, not because of my weight, but because I have nasty reflux that I need to get under control.
Julia Gillard is the Prime Minister, and just about everyone has lost faith in the two major political parties right now. It's a hung parliament and nothing is getting done - though the carbon tax is about to come into effect. Let me guess - the world didn't end?
Speaking of the world ending - if you get this, it's obvious that the world did not end in December of this year. I suspect that's pretty much a given.
I have not had my ovaries removed, even though it's pretty important that I do – and soon. I need to get my life in order before I do something like that.
I'm really into animation right now. I'd like nothing more than to go into a career that involves tradigital animation. (Has that happened? If not, am I using my creative talents at all in the job you presumably have? Or at least, are you making short films or something in your spare time?)
Today's internet is a pirate paradise where freedom more or less reigns. (Is it still the utopian wonderland you remember from your youth?)
My TV is 40 inches in size and is hooked up to a big desktop PC with Windows 7. I wish that it had a better graphics card, but it serves its purpose and has done for over 2 years now.
I currently take my photographs with a Canon 1000D Rebel XS, with its kit 18-55mm lens. I assume your current camera kicks butt.
I live in Mangerton, in the weirdly positioned house with the split levels. My bedroom is tiny, but the living room is spacious and comfortable, if cold.
Tonight, my sister Al has gone to a party up in Sydney with her cheerleader best friend. I'm at home, the way I prefer it, writing this FutureMe email.
In August of this year, my brother Dave is going to get married. They seem to be right for each other, so I assume the marriage lasts.
The current Doctor is Matt Smith, the eleventh Doctor. Series 7 is yet to start, but everyone's looking forward to it.
The Simpsons has recently completed its 23rd season. It's tired; the last episode I saw featured Lady Gaga and had the worst music that's ever come out of the show. What were they thinking??
Currently, I watch every episode of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report that are aired on US television. I also watch The Rachel Maddow Show daily. It's kind of a strange addiction I have. I've been watching it for near 3 years now!
I am a big fan of the online game Drawception. Is anything like it still around?
I love deviantART, but I always feel super inadequate when I see the AMAZING art of other people. Is it right to compare myself to them all the time? Is it even possible for me to reach that standard??
I really enjoy singing, but I never have an outlet for it.
Android, iOS and Windows Phone are the three big players in phones of today. Blackberry is passé. My phone, a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, has Android Ice Cream Sandwich on it. It's on Vodafone and the signal is very shoddy in certain places. Like all of Coffs Harbour for example, and Corrimal.
I use Macs at TAFE, and freaking hate them. I much prefer a custom-built PC with Windows 7. Windows 8, however, I am very iffy about. The new start screen looks crummy.
Today, my breakfast was strawberry jam on multigrain toast. I washed it down with coffee.
Then, I had another coffee.
Then, my parents came over for lunch. Me and Al served up the savoury chorizo and ham muffins Al had baked. Dad, mercifully, actually liked the things, despite being suspicious of them at first. Mum opened a jar for us. I made lattes for everyone. We talked about my videos from both TAFE and the competition I entered, that I'm probably going to win $250 for (my video is #1 in the voting and it's the last day).
Mum, as usual, worried about money during our trip to Fiji. She's not the only one worried about money, she's just the most vocal about it.
In the afternoon, I had an apple. I love Fuji apples.
For dinner, I am going to have a cheese pizza. I wish I had ham to put on it or something, but oh well.
I have tonnes of booze in the house, all won from trivia competitions in the various pubs and clubs in the area – mostly from Figtree Hotel. But the problem is, I'm afraid to drink any of it now that I've pinned down reflux as a serious problem. What am I to do with this surplus of alcohol?!
Yesterday, I completed my third playthrough of The Elder Scrolls V – Skyrim. **** it's a fun game.
Next up, I've got Final Fantasy XIII-2 to play. I hope it's better than the demo made it out to be. The demo was incredibly confusing and somewhat chaotic.
So, that's basically all I can think of at this point in time. Good luck in your old age, Miss 40-year-old probable virgin. I guess you can go watch that old movie now, see if it relates to you?
Lots of love,
Past You
