Dear FutureMe,
Right now I’m sat in J14, the clocks have just gone back an hour so it’s a loooomg shift. I’m very bored, very excited for harvest to end. I’m scheduling this for when the clocks change again, whether we’ll be in Australia still or not, I don’t know.
Life has been brilliant and interesting lately. Meeting James has been thrilling, I feel unbelievably lucky. I’m very aware it’s such early days but I’m so grateful and excited for the future. There’s definitely some anxiety there around the honeymoon phase and what if it won’t be this spectacular forever. But even typing that I’m not sure I fully believed it.
I feel safe and supported and understood and strong and smart and loved around him. I get to see him tomorrow for the first time in a while. Then we go on this wonderful camping trip. Ugh to be present and spontaneous and myself and free with him. Luxury. Yeah I feel insanely lucky and privileged. Thank you James.
I’m FASCINATED to know what I’m doing right now. Do I get skilled visa (I think not), sponsor? Maybe, student visa? Potentially. Even in Australia? Surely I am? I’m excited and a little scared, and that’s okay.
I hope we’re feeling at peace and loved and fulfilled. I’m proud of us however it turns out. I hope we appreciated every second of these 6 months.
Lots of love
Laura April 2026
