Dear FutureMe,
Today, I am 21 weeks pregnant. When it occurs to me what I’ll have to go through to finish this pregnancy and then bring my baby into the world, it initially strikes me with fear and a sick feeling in my stomach. What calms me every time is remembering that you will be looking back on me with pride, with new experiences, new strength, transformation. You are strong because I am strong. You are capable because I am capable. My power is innate. It will not suddenly develop in me the day I have the baby, it is here. I have been feeling the baby kick me and it brings tears to my eyes. I love him with such intensity and know that I could endure anything to help him get earth-side. I fear that I could explode with love when he’s finally in my arms. A year ago, I wouldn’t have thought there would be room for this much more love on top of what I feel for G. I can’t wait to see G as a father, and I can’t wait to hold and cuddle our son. We can do this. I am looking toward you with complete peace and never ending pride - and I hope you will look at me the same way. Give baby boy and lovely G kisses for me. I will never exist again as I am now, but I think you will be even better.
Love,
M 03/10/2026
