Dear FutureMe, I went to the doctor on Thursday, and he wants to see me in six months. The receptionist asked me if August (whatever) was okay, and ... I'm going to be retired in July, so YES IT IS. :-) TIL our new Human Capital Management (payroll) system is so screwed up that we cannot request time off (sick, vacation, or anything) in less than 8-hour increments. Apparently our HR and finance people made a stupid decision to treat all exempt employees as fixed 8-hour-a-day pay buckets, so if someone puts in a 1-hour sick time off request for a doctor's visit, the system cannot correctly accrue vacation or sick time. So now, our managers cannot use the HCM for managing who took off time when. Sucks to be them. I won't miss not working here anymore.
