Dear Lisa,
It's me your past self. Right now, you are on a pendulum, you have just started your dream job, in a new city, in a big hospital. And it's scary. But you chose this path, you took the steps to get here. You made it happen. You wouldn't be here if other people thought you were incapable. There are people out there are believe in you more than you believe in yourself and you need to rely on their feedback and support. Take every opportunity to learn, every moment to grow. Even things that aren't completely perfect are pivotal. I hope you leaned into the fellowship program, and can now schedule your own shifts, and not feel trepidation at holding one of our tiniest patients. Do what you've done with our other patients, and you'll be fine. Care for them, connect with them. Take as much care for the family as the patient themselves and pay attention to the little things. They usually mean the most. Learning and growth don't end with the fellowship. It continues with you and every minute you are with our patients and colleagues.
