Dear me at 23🩷
I am writing this letter to you—my new version in the future.
No jade can shine without being polished, just as no person can truly grow without learning and self-discipline. Every day of study is a moment we challenge ourselves, accept difficulties, and refine who we are. The journey may be slow and sometimes exhausting, but every small effort quietly builds lasting value. Above all, it is never too late to learn—because learning is not limited to one stage of life, but a lifelong journey that helps us continuously improve and become better versions of ourselves.
I understand this more than anyone, for I was once that little girl who hid behind closed doors, fearing the gaze of the crowd and using silence as a safety net for my insecurities. The transformation into the vibrant, confident woman I am today was not a magical leap, but a collection of tiny moments of courage. I realized that confidence is not the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward even when my legs are trembling.
Every time I forced myself to raise my hand, every proactive smile to a stranger, or those moments standing on stage with a racing heart—all were painful yet necessary 'carvings.' The person I am now is the result of a thousand inner battles, learning to embrace my awkwardness to find freedom in my voice and my eyes. Now, instead of bowing my head for fear of being wrong, I choose to look the world in the eye. I have come to realize that each of us is born with a unique melody, and if we don't speak up with confidence, the song of our life will remain an unvoiced silence.
As it turns out, the most brilliant light is not found in the distance, but in the moment we dare to shatter the shell of fear and allow ourselves to shine. Never fear the polish, for you are the most precious gem of your own life.
Work hard today, shine later. 🩷
Best regards,
Brenna - the old version at 22 😘
