Time Travelling — 6 months

Peaceful right?

Dear Future-Me, -By: Chace Hansen Date: 12/8/2025 Hello Chace from the future, Right now I'm in 9th grade doing my 1st semester's Final project assignment… For it I chose the goal of Collaborative problem solver. I chose this goal because I haven’t been the best at being in a group. I also chose this because it can teach me how to be open minded and more collaborative with others. The main reason why I chose it though was because I wanted to improve my active listening skills especially in a group and in zoom classes. I've learned that when you want to hear someone you have to do more than just paying attention. You have to be open minded or there are so many things that could go wrong. When you are open minded you can see that everyone has an opinion and that you can incorporate their ideas with others. It is also good to stay focused, literally… focus and listen because they aren’t going to say it again. This semester through most of it in every group I have been in, I have written down notes showing what everyone wants and keeping my mind open. I have to say it works. I have been more engaging with my peers and able to work together very fluently. I also have to say working in a quiet space where there are no distractions also helps. Also for future projects and topics pick something that is interesting for the whole group, not just one. If you don’t it will be boring and you nor your peers will want to do it. I have faced so many challenges. And I will probably face more. I will use this newfound power/trait throughout high school in many ways. One being making friends. Two being to communicate and get through group projects. And lastly three being… to grow as a leader in those group projects. In the future hopefully 6 months later you are still open and honest. Hopefully you have learned how to get through those challenges better. Sincerely, Chace H.
