Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I’ve always dreamt of the day I’d turn 25. Somehow, I’ve always felt like that would be the moment I’d finally feel grown — like I’d have everything figured out, or at least be close to it. I don’t even know why, but this age has always meant something to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen it as the turning point — the moment life starts to take shape. Now that I’m here, I want this to be a good, happy, peaceful year. I want to find myself a little more. I want to get things into perspective — to stop overthinking and start doing, to stop living in my head so much and start creating the life I keep imagining. I want this to be the year I begin to truly step into who I’m meant to be. I want to grow — not just in age, but in how I handle myself, my emotions, and the people around me. I want to stop doubting myself, stop holding back because of fear or insecurity. I want to change — to let go of the parts of me that no longer serve who I’m becoming. Especially the parts that hurt the people I love, like my partner. I want to love better — more patiently, more kindly, and with more understanding. I want to respect more, listen more, and give more without expecting anything back. I hope by the time you read this, you’ve made progress — not necessarily in big, dramatic ways, but in the quiet, consistent ones. Maybe you’ll have learned to choose peace over reaction, to breathe before speaking, to let things go a little easier. Maybe you’ll have learned that it’s okay to start small, and that growth doesn’t have to be loud to be real. I hope you’ve achieved some of the things you’ve been dreaming about — whether it’s in your career, your personal life, or just becoming a more grounded version of yourself. But even if you haven’t ticked every box, I hope you’re still proud. I hope you’re still gentle with yourself. This year, I just want peace, happiness, and growth — not the kind that fades after a few weeks, but the kind that settles in your soul. I want to feel more content, more sure, and more at ease with the person I am becoming. So, dear future me — I hope you kept believing. I hope you kept showing up for yourself even when it felt hard. I hope you kept choosing love, choosing joy, and choosing to keep going. And if you ever forget how far you’ve come, read this again and smile — because this is the version of you who decided she was ready to change. With love, hope, and faith, Me — on the day I turned 25
