Dear Future Me,
When you read this one year from now, I hope you’ve found peace. I’m writing from a time when we’re still learning to let go — still healing from chasing someone who chose to walk away, who preferred others over us, who disrespected us, and who looked at us with disdain.
Yes, we made mistakes. We admitted them. We grew, changed, and became a better version of ourselves. Yet, in her eyes, the past could never be erased. We gave our time, our effort, even our last bit of money, trying to show how much we cared — but in return, we were met with indifference and disrespect.
Remember the day we bought her flowers? Her reaction still stings. We regret wasting our sincerity on someone who couldn’t value it. But that chapter is over now. We’ve held on long enough — it’s time to let her go.
Her pride made her believe we would return after silence, but she was wrong. We’re done reaching out. We’ve done our part. Now, we move forward — with dignity, with respect, and with peace.
Her problems are no longer ours to fix. From now on, our focus is self-care, self-love, and self-respect. There’s a whole world waiting — places we haven’t explored, goals we haven’t achieved, dreams we haven’t lived. Save your money, travel the world, even if it’s alone. Because we are strong enough to stand on our own.
This is our time — to reclaim our peace, our time, and our dignity.
The door behind us is closed. No more begging.
See you, stronger and freer.
— Me
