Dear Future Me,
I hope you’re still remembering to pause and take a breath. Life gets busy, but I hope you haven’t forgotten to notice the little things—the quiet moments, the laughs, the warm sunlight, the people who make your days brighter. Remember how grounding it felt to write down what you were grateful for at the end of the day? Keep doing that. Gratitude keeps you connected to what really matters.
Don’t forget to take breaks. Step outside. Look around. You don’t always have to be in motion to be moving forward. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself—and for others—is to slow down and just be.
You chose this path because you care deeply about people, but that same care needs to be extended inward, too. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish; it’s part of being the strong, compassionate social worker you’re becoming.
Be proud of how far you’ve come, and keep giving yourself grace as you keep growing.
With love and gratitude,
Your Past Self
