What is my career?

Time Travelled — 11 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I'm writing this as I'm about to start figuring out what I want to do with my life. I have no idea what I want to do with my life right now. I spent most of the last 12 months kinda realizing that I don't exactly have what most people would refer to as a calling, or I at least couldn't say what it is at the moment. For a while, this was kind of depressing, but as of the last couple of months I have started to be okay with it as I have realized that it means that I can probably do anything. I'm leaning something like data science or quant at the moment. The problem with data science is that most of it has AI stuff involved which I kind of don't want to do, and also most of it is basically marketing. That being said, I do like coding so I think I won't hate the work. With quant, I'm a little discouraged by the fact that it will probably be around 50-60 hour work weeks and that I'll get super bored of it after a couple of years, but the pay seems exciting plus it'll be easy to transition into new fields. I'm mostly wondering where I end up. I assume by now that I'll have finished my masters and have maybe started a position by now? I also hope that I was able to goto Bonnaroo as well, and was able to do some outdoorsy stuff/offroading since now. Wherever I am, I hope you are still raving and are enjoying life as best you can. If you don't think you are doing so well, I would go see a concert or something where you can let loose. I don't think I really started feeling like myself again until I was able to really let loose at Bonnaroo and the other shows I went to since then. If you're hard of motivation, go watch some motivational ****. If your reaction to it is that its corny or not applicable, then thats a good litmus test that your in a slump. Best, Your old self from 10-6-2025
