Dear FutureMe,
Hi L,
The best part about waking up isn't the sunrise, as many authors have stamped on the pages of history through time. Nor is it the chirping of birds welcoming the new day in a symphony of wordless sounds that everyone has come to know as the morning song. The best part about waking up, L, is the fog. How it clings to the grass like the memory of a night cloud, loudly whispering, 'I'm still here, I've fallen down miles of sky to get to you. Please notice me, please let me stay with you for a while, don't let me go.' It's how it veils the earth in white like a bride awaiting her groom, and quickly vanishes when the sun kisses the horizon. How it's going lingers like a love unrequited, and a hope for a blurred future as the day brighteningly clears. The best part of waking up, L, is the fog, because in those few moments of misty blurredness, I can clearly see a day where you and I are meant to be together, just for a little while every day of the rest of our lives.
