Dear Fatimah,
If you’re reading this, it means a year has passed since I sat down to write this letter. Right now, I’m working on my second book, pouring my heart into words that I hope will touch lives as much as *Beyond My Trials* did. I’ve also planted the seed of something greater: My Freeability Foundation, a foundation I believe will change lives by making accessibility and inclusion a reality for people with disabilities in Nigeria. And of course, my final year exams are in the following month of writing this letter. My convocation is around the corner too; it is a long-awaited milestone that celebrates years of resilience, late nights, and unwavering faith.
Future me, I wonder how far you’ve come. Did you finish the second book? Is My Freeability making the impact you dreamt it would? How do you feel looking back on your convocation day? Did you allow yourself to truly celebrate the moment? Did you take your beautiful pictures?
No matter where you are now, I want you to remember this: you’ve always been resilient, brave, and passionate. Don’t forget the girl who chose to hope, even when the world sometimes felt heavy. I hope you’re proud of how far you’ve come, but also gentle enough with yourself to embrace the things that may still be in progress.
Keep shining, keep loving, and keep believing in the power of your voice. The world needs it.
With love,
Fatimah (2025)
