Dear FutureMe,
It's April 1st 2026, regular decision and early action decisions are all out , and all has been revealed. If it all went well, I just want to say congratulations and best of luck on whatever's next. If not, if our suffering didn't bear good fruit, I just have a few words to say.
As we joined highschool, we were excited, it was a new beginning, a chance at redefining ourselves, an opportunity to finally reap the fruits of our suffering. Unfortunately, we didn't make the cut, we didn't make the volleyball team nor the cool kids club. Our English was terrible and our jokes were not funny. We tried and tried to fix it but eventually we just gave up.
Faced with disappoinment, we turned to what we do best, postpone happiness and fulfilment into the future. If attaining bronze couldn't satisfy us, then maybe silver or gold will. We tortured ourselves, as much as we could to try to get something better, if we couldn't be fulfilled, then we had to die trying. There was no difference between us and those that chose to go with the flow and enjoy their teenage years, we just paid a bigger price for a better shot at winning silver.
If you are still reading this, perhaps this didn't go as planned, perhaps no one though we deserved a front row seat. At this moment, I just want you however to reflect on whether we ever really cared about the reapings of our suffering. Its not that we wanted a good return on our suffering; rather, all we wanted was someone to justify our suffering. But that someone doesn't have to be someone who hasn't walked a day in our shoes, I know all you went through and I think frankly you did all you could and that whatever happened: all's well that ends well, still the fine's the crown, whatever the course, the end is the renown.
