Dear Future Shawn, Our first New Years together: And nothing more than I wanna do is to Thank God for letting me live another day to experience a new year and now with my husband. Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of my husband, Shawn. You knew my heart long before I did, and You knew exactly the man I needed. You gave me a husband who is caring, faithful, genuine—a man who leads with love, supports me in every season, and knows me inside and out. Lord, I still don’t know how I deserve him, but I know he is a reflection of Your goodness. He prays for us, he strengthens me, and he has healed pieces of my heart that I thought were too broken. Through him, I’ve come to understand love in a deeper, more holy way. Thank You for choosing us for one another. Help me to honor this gift, to love him as fiercely as he loves me, and to walk by his side faithfully for all the days You give us.
