Time Travelled — 11 months

Peaceful right?

Hey, me, I write to me after spending Labor Day at the Fair, 2025. Despite your thoughts in 2023 - when we said it wasn’t worth it - and 2024 - when we said it was a stupid overpriced venture - we still signed up to work in 2025. “Oh, we have money now,” we said. This was true; however, the prices are ridiculous. We refused to pay $9 for French Fries, today. Perhaps out of the memory of eating them with Grandma, or perhaps due to the Wegovy, or perhaps the look of disgust we gave ourselves and our stomach in the mirror this morning. “But it’s only one day,” we whispered. And yet - nostalgia for Dad’s mini donuts hit the right spots, until they didn’t. Is nostalgia worth $7, or could you get a Breakfast of Champions instead? I think Dad only went to the Fair every few years, unlike our Mother’s family who went multiple times. We know how we feel (felt?) about them. I certainly don’t expect our opinion about Gloria’s intelligence to change over the next 11 months. Look, I’m not going to persuade you out of it, but I want you to think about what’s really worth it. I think it’s worth thinking about it enough to be sitting in the bath sending this stupid email. Today I spent about $50 to $60, all said and done. Could you use that money for something restful? What if you went to a nice golf course, instead? Or bought a nice treat for yourself? Good luck. Make the right choice. Love, Me
