Letter to the Legendary Future Me

Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, A child will wander around the neighborhood. At twilight, he rushes back home. He rushes back home not because he's lost, not because of the hunger that is buzzing in his belly, not because he is unhappy, not because he's tired, but because he knows that at home, there is a mother who is thinking about him. There is a shelter that will shelter him when the army of rain is raining down on him. There are his brothers and sisters who will adore him. Most importantly, he is conscious about where he comes from. Simply put, he knows the road to his home. Therefore, my precious Future Me, the first thing I want you to do when you achieve your goals is, "GO BACK HOME"! Mama Ellen and Mama Liberia are waiting for you. Dearest Future Me, you must be confused by now after reaching this far in the scroll. Your confusion is rooted in your curiosity to know what goals this anxious "Present Me" is talking about. Sorry for the pressure. Present Me is a clear depiction of Lenric Peter's "Panic of Growing Older". Present Me is wearing away in strength, ideas, fortitude, and thoughts, and he feels that his dreams are near yet still far. Again, I know you're asking. What dreams are this little Tartan talking about? I'll tell you one thing. Reminiscence about the time when you were me, when you woke up and looked in the mirror. What did you see? Ah! Now you're smiling. There were many goals expressed in one vision, "Conquering the World". You must be asking yourself now. What was I thinking? How can a less-privileged Me conquer the world? Dearest Future Me, it is difficult, yet it is simple. It is simple for you because I know that by this time, you have achieved the most difficult task in this journey of conquest, conquering yourself. Now, do the rest. Master your career (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), use this mastery to solve the unsolvable through research, become a billionaire, build mansions for Mama Ellen, develop Mama Liberia, make Africa great again, use your blessing of becoming a billionaire to help the poor around the world in honor of your most precious late Granny Theresa, end conflicts around the world, inspire people, live a righteous and chivarious life, and restore order around the world. In that case, the memory of Present Me, which lives in your mind, will be proud and smile. Don't be complacent with what you have now. Don't be shy. Don't be afraid. As humans, we have limitless possibilities. Everything Present-Me wrote to you is possible by faith, hard work, smartness, and thoughtfulness. I know your fear is mortality. Life is short. You might not conquer the world. It is a possibility, but this fear shouldn't be a limitation. Let it be a motivation to be fast and careful with whatever you do. Most glorious and supreme Future Me, whose supremacy is rooted in your love for and obedience to God Almighty, by this time, I am sure you have achieved your goals. What next? Remember your root. Be that child who went back home after a long day of wandering. It is now time to rest and enjoy the fruit of your labor. Before you think that it is over, I have one last task for you. Make Heaven. It is the most important of all the goals set by Present Me. Yes! You heard me. Make heaven. Sincerely, Your Dearest Present Me
