Dear FutureMe, It will be your third year as a professional, second year as a wife, and hopefully your first year as a PhD student! Now that you're an adult with almost no responsibilities, hopefully you've been able to try lots of new things and meet new friends. I definitely hope you've been able to travel a lot more and check out new places. I have two trips planned this year; maybe you'll have a lot more by the time you receive this letter! I'm excited thinking about how much I will grow in a year; maybe I'll finally grow up and learn how to budget—one can dream xD This year, you've been focusing on trying to meet new people and create your first "adult" friend group.
