Peaceful right?

Dear Future me, I hope that you manage to be your true authentic self because frankly I can’t do that yet. I know what you’re thinking, “That’s absolutely ridiculous!” but it’s a massive hope of mine. You see, being me with all of my massive imperfected emotions is torture. Not to mention the four year long identity crisis that’s been tacked onto it all. I need you to be better than who we are now because we have dreams to achieve and hopes to make. Why? I’ll tell you why you need to make yourself proud. Over the course of these years I have learned that hoping is never a lie, nor a poorly maintained fabrication. Hope has kept us moving and motivated us to be ourself and that’s what I hope to get out of this. I’m hoping that my hopes mean something to you now and get us into our greatest dream. To be understood, to be seen, to make it into Yale one day. You’re who I’m supposed to be and that’s enough hope for me. Mr. Fowler if you really know how to play the game then tighten up. Dreaming is what’s going to help us but so is action. Action is our driving force and what makes our dreams come true. It gives us purpose and motivates the hopes that drive who we are at our core. The year has only just begun so we can’t waste what we have now. Stay focused on the goal to succeed and remember that failure isn’t the end but the beginning of something new. The beginning of something better and bigger than us. Honestly, even if you don’t achieve the extraordinary there is nothing ordinary about us. Make our lives happier than it used to be and find out who you truly are. That’s my goal for this year, to find us without having to worry about what others will think of us. I want to be who I truly am and build that identity up because who I am now isn’t the full of who I am. I’m just barely cracking out of this egg and I want to get out of it this year. I know that you can do it, I know that you’re capable because you’re me. We’ve survived what we thought would be the end of our life but we’re still here. Not yet satisfied but way less sad than before. Right now I’m kinda fighting for my life when it comes to my identity and I don’t know how I feel about it. I’m scared that someday I’ll be so lost that I won’t ever find myself. That’s why I need you to be brave enough to do it for us. Sorry to give you the doom of finding us but I can’t and so I hope that you can. Best of luck, I’m sure that you can handle it. — Past You
