Dear FutureMe,
I hope you’re smiling as you read this. Not because everything went perfectly, but because you survived it all. If you’re holding this letter, it means a year has passed, and with it, so many versions of you must’ve bloomed and withered.
Right now, I don’t know what the world looks like for you. But I do know what it feels like to be me today. Maybe I’m a little lost, maybe I’m holding on too tight to things I should’ve let go, or maybe I’m on the edge of something extraordinary. I want you to remember the strength it took just to keep going. The days I cried in silence. The nights I wished someone would understand without asking. The mornings I woke up with no purpose anyway.
What are you like now? Do you still overthink at 2 a.m.? Do old wounds still ache when it rains? Or have you finally made peace with the ghosts? I hope you’re softer, kinder—to yourself especially. I hope you’ve learned to rest without guilt, to say no without apology, and to love without shrinking.
Did you achieve what we dreamed of? Or did the dream evolve into something more real, more you? Either way, I’m proud of you. Not for what you’ve done, but for who you’ve become.
And if by chance you feel like you’re still stuck or still searching—remember this: Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s in quiet decisions. In choosing to heal. In picking yourself up after yet another invisible fall. That is still progress. That is still powerful.
I love you. I’m rooting for you. And no matter what life looked like in between, I’m just glad you made it here.
With hope, fire, and tenderness,
Your Past Self
