Hey my darling Fiyin, Years have passed, and I’ve watched you blossom into the most graceful, grounded, and strong woman …. the kind of woman people write about in books. You’re that friend everyone prays for: thoughtful, fiercely loyal, deeply intentional. Honestly, I still don’t know how you manage to give so much of yourself to others and still have the strength to hold yourself together with so much poise. You’re 20 now. Wow. Just yesterday, we were silly little girls giggling over nothing at 13 😭. We’ve been best friends for over eight years, and even if I had the option to live a thousand different lives, I’d still choose every single version that includes you. You always know when I’m off track…… and without judging me, you gently nudge me back into alignment. You don’t shame me, you don’t leave me hanging…..you correct with love and show up with your full chest every single time. I don’t think you know what a rare gem you are. Sometimes I imagine life without you, and it’s just… grey. Empty. A dull version of what I’m used to. Because what I’ve found in you isn’t just friendship …..it’s family. You’re the godmother to my future children, the aunt they’ll call when they can’t talk to me, the second mummy I trust to love them like her own. You’re my safe space in human form. I pray that life is tender with you …. that the dreams you whisper at night come true boldly in the daylight. I pray love finds you in its most gentle and protective form….. the kind that lifts you, covers you, and treats you like the rare treasure you are. May he adore you, admire your strength, and love you like I do …. purely, endlessly, and without condition. I pray that innocent, beautiful smile never fades, and that joy overflows in every season of your life. God forbid we ever part ways … but if life ever gets that unfair, you’ll still be the only person I’ll always wish well from the depths of my heart. Because you deserve that and so much more.
