Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Hi...you are on your last day of the Gateway Writing Project (your first college class - yay!) As I sit here writing to you, I am wondering how this upcoming school year will go. Will I actually do all the things that I learned? Will I still be using outlines? Will writing journals be in the corner of the room, forgotten and unused? If you are currently crying and beating yourself up over the above lines - don't. Well okay, let it out, but then reflect and grow. Chelsea, you have to be kinder to yourself. You never used outlines, taught to so strictly to standards, or were so formulaic because you hate kids and teaching. In fact, part of the reason you did it was because you wanted to be objective - let students have a right answer and move on. But you were also trying to create a work-life balance. You were a ***** year 1 and that was because you were stressed, tired and felt unappreciated. You just didn't want to go back to that. I hope as you're reading this, you are smiling because this year has been inspiring and much more joyfilled than years past. Or maybe you're laughing because, while interesting, some things crashed and burned and you learned. But if you are crying, remember that you get to try again tomorrow. And next semester. Andnext year. I know you most likely have those dystopian novels coming up - or maybe the new play unit. Do the **** podcast. On a more personal note- I hope your hair is still short, I hope you are still working out, I hope you are still writing mostly daily. And painting and reading. Holy **** you might have a house - Jesus you're old. You got this and you are a ****, bi, funny, queen. Stop crying and go hump your man. Love you - You <3
