A letter from Jul 03, 2025

Dear FutureMe, Three weeks ago was the first "No Kings" protest. Tomorrow is supposed to be another one. I think they are dishonest. Five years ago, the same people were ALL IN on unelected kings issuing orders and sending the police after the non-compliant because it was _their_ kings running the show. Five years later, their kings are no longer in power, so suddenly they are going to rally behind the "No Kings" slogan. It is such total ********. I'd have respect for them if they would protest honestly and simply say they are anti-Trump. But to couch their TDS behind a ******** slogan lowers my respect for them instead of raising it. Although I disliked the One Big Beautiful Bill and hoped it would be defeated, it has apparently passed and does have one thing in it which is good. That one thing is the defunding of USAID. Everything else about it is pretty bad, including raising spending by the swamp. But this one little island of swamp is getting drained, which is at least a tiny bit of good news. So I've got to wonder: if USAID isn't getting funding anymore, will these protests vanish too?
