A letter from June 26th, 2025

Dear FutureMe, HEYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long time no see :) this is freshly 20 year old Ally coming out of the woodwork to write this letter. In true past me fashion I will be randomly name dropping songs im playing while I write ((alrighty Aphrodite -peach pit)) <-- from 2-3 is probably one of my favorite albums ever btw. 
Guess what! It's my birthday (and I know when you receive this letter it'll be your birthday too) How does it feel to finally be 21! HAPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYBIRTHDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Honestly I'd ask if you were excited to drink legally but I just turned 20 a few hours ago (it's 4:56 am yikes) and I'm nearly retired from alcohol myself tbh.
I'm hoping that future me (well you) for that matter is alive to read this. and if you are congrats girly!! I'm so proud of us for making it this far, and as past you, I would like to remind you of a philosophy I very much believe in. ((come a little closer -cage the elephant)) I feel as if it's important to live every second of your life fully and completely. What does that mean you ask? Do the hard thing, take the risk, reach out to friends and family you haven't seen in a while, ((Rock that body- Black eyed peas)), ask for something even if the answer might be no, go out, enjoy your 20s. Do all the things you maybe couldn't do if your life and plans hadn't gone in a different direction! 
I don't know if it's the fact if I may be writing to a person who may or may not exist but it's times and thoughts like these that truly make me realise my morbidity. Im aware we're not afraid of *****, but I do fully and completely hope that we're living with the same mindset as the one I've stated above, as I'm sure it's ensured that when our time does come there are no regrets on the table.

Anyway here's a little refresher on my life right now. I'm currently dating Martin Garcia, in fact he built my bed today after I moved out of my old apartment (that's right I've moved back in with my parents, really following that 20 year old kid in their parents basement stereotype) ((Joyride -Kesha)). I'm really excited because I'm transferring to UCF in about a month and a half! I know it's going to be hard and I am going there for school but I'm also so so so so excited. Nova was literally soul sucking to the point where I would watch "I saw the tv glow" and cry because the ending scene was literally me dying in that school (I would explain it to you but I know you know). ((Perdiste -Kali Uchis)) The addition of that little line is to remind you that no matter how tough it might be in UCF right now you are in a much much better place in your mindset and your life than you were last year, and don't try to convince yourself it isn't true because attending NSU quite literally made you develop real anxiety 😭
Anyway more updates, I just got my Open Water Scuba Diving Certification!!! I know I probably won't use it much but how freaking cool is that??? I hope that at this point I've found some dive buddies and gone out a few times!

isn't it crazy how much can change in a few years? I know this letter will only be sent one year in the future but I'm already thinking about all the things you might've experienced that I haven't. Even if life isn't too different I hope we've still managed to change ourselves in small ways yk? like things just for us. maybe we've gotten a new piercing or dyed our hair (finally) or even picked up a new hobby! regardless of what it is I bet you look gorgeous (and or you're awesome at your new hobby ;) )
I'm worried because in a week I'm having my first ever like real adult birthday party and a decent amount of people can't make it (although they're all saying how sad they are about that) which I knowww they are the theme is very fire.
I hope that your reading this laughing because you know how stressed I am and you just know it goes exactly to plan and you just really want to come back in time and tell me it's ok. But for now I'm going to imagine that in my head just to ease the anxiety!

Anywayyyy I know you hate when I talk about politics in these letters but just a quick recap I swear! long story short WW3 is approaching but also possible progressive New York mayor? So that's happening...
You know I feel like our conversations are very one sided.

I hope by the time we read this we have a good group of UCF friends and we have a Disney annual pass and we go when we do our homework and we room with Maria and Andrea and we have an awesome happy time and we lock in with school and it's great and everyone is awesome and happy
also 
I hope you tailgate and go to football games, like a lot, I heard they're awesome.
I love you and the person you've become future me, I hope we get to grow and blossom into something great and when it's all done we can look back and reflect on this small time we have together.
