A letter from Jun 23, 2025

Time Travelled — 6 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Another google doc entry! I just miss the feeling of letting go and letting my thoughts run through the typing of my fingers. I hope you still do it, wherever you are right now. It’ll be December when this is sent. Today it is June 23, already 6 months into 2025. A lot has already happened since the year started. 2024 moved by so fast as well. Looking back, there were definitely several events wherein I thought it was the end of the world for me. Little did I know that these events were open doors to new beginnings. Throughout these moments, I was able to fully grasp one important thing. It might be obvious, but I always forget that change doesn’t always happen with rainbows and flying colors. Change is almost always painful. You’ll be brought down into the deepest depths with no light to be found, maybe even no lamp and no oil to fuel it. In the end, it is still your choice to find it again or give up. This might be the most cliche thing ever but it’s true. It’s not like I’ve been through the most excruciating trenches, but it took me a while to realize that this is the basis for almost everything. There is only more to come and there is no stopping it. One beautiful thing that blooms out of this continuous phenomenon is stillness. Stillness in accepting that whatever will be, will be, or as we all know, “Que sera sera”. Everything happens for a reason, good or bad. As I venture onto my last two years of high school in a new and unfamiliar environment, I hope to still uphold this reminder to myself, that not everything will go my way. There may be obstacles that will be thrown at you and will derail you, but if God makes you go through these hardships, He only believes that you can overcome them, so why give up? I’m aware that senior high will definitely not be easy, and I’m sure that you agree. Despite that, I hope that it will only make you stronger. This was your dream, so make the most out of your reality right now :) !! School hasn’t started yet, but I hope that your first few months in Ateneo have been fruitful. If you received this already, it’s time to write a new letter. I’m excited to see how you’ll turn out! Please don’t be dead yet
