It's Summer of '26

Time Travelling — 12 months

Peaceful right?

It's the Summer of '26. Remember when you swore off love & men, and you had made peace with forever being alone? Well, life is full of plot twist, aren't they? You never thought that you'd meet a man whose God-fearing, and not a hypocrite, right? You never dreamed in a million years that you'd meet someone who's thoughtful with his words and with his actions, who's generous with his time and money, who spoils you to the point where you have to say, "That's too much," and he replies, "No, it's not enough. You deserve it." When you're upset, he doesn't brush you off and leave you to cry in a room all alone–no. This man wraps you in his arms, gives you forehead kisses, and tell you that you're going to get through whatever you're going through, with his help. He truly, truly worships the ground you walk in. When he looks at you, it's like you're the last thing he's ever going to see. He is so faithful and he loves you with a love that's more than love! Of course, he's not perfect. He's not the most handsome man in the room, and may not be the tallest; it doesn't matter though. The way he treats you makes you feel like he's Denzel Washington, and the way he gives and loves you unconditionally has you believing he could touch heaven. Oh, and look at your Venmo and CashApp. Look at how this man blesses you without you even asking, just for existing. You could ask him for all the money in his checking account, and he'll reply with, "Are you sure that's enough because I have a savings account too? Anything for my love." It's funny because you always knew. That's why you changed your life around completely, almost overnight. You threw away the drugs, and put down the alcohol. You started looking at how beautiful you are in the mirror, and realized that you deserved more than your current circumstances. You started going to the gym, working on your body that your man loves so very much. You elevated your appearance, and never leaving the house unless you look like a million dollars. You started going out more and meeting people who want the best for you. You learned how to have self-respect, and set boundaries. Most importantly, you prayed every single day. God became the main focus in your life, and he still is and always will be. Well, I'm not going to hold you because I know you're busy. You're graduating nursing school this winter and I couldn't be more prouder of you, of us. I love you so, so much. Stay blessed, be happy in this moment, and thank God for everything He has brought you through! Always, and forever The Past You Who's Already Claimed This Future.
