Dear FutureMe,
Fifty sixth birthday was the least memorable yet. Spent the day in the office to avoid being at home. Three cards, no presents- unless you count the toaster and cooker hood Svetlana bought for the kitchen.
Home awkward. Just want to become Noemi, but can’t, without breaking things i mustn’t yet break.
Office much more welcoming. Skirt over a slightly too short dress - need to find one the right length - lovely to be wearing strappy sandals with no socks or tights, and nail polish on my hands for the first time. Definitely a very feminine look rather than non-binary. Am happy making a very public slow transition. Spoken to a few people now about Noemi - going to keep doing this - I want to be Noemi at work soon.
Going to have to cope with Mum seeing the nail polish today - she will likely make some comment about wanting the money back for the car if I talk about Noemi, but I’m going to have to do it eventually.
By the time you read this, hopefully Noel will be history. No idea what life will look like in a year’s time. I really hope Noemi is living it instead of Noel.
All the best
N
