Dear FutureMe,
I have spent the last hour messaging with ChatGPT. Not in a useless, mindless way, no. I have been delving into what makes me, me. After answering eight thought provoking questions, this is what it generated:
“I’m someone who feels most alive in quiet moments with animals and nature—where nothing needs to be said to feel everything. I value care in the small things: leaving places better than I found them, returning what I borrow, wiping the bench after I cook. I’ve let go of trying to shape how others see me, and though that’s been lonely at times, it’s made the connections I do have feel utterly real. I think my gift is presence—offering ears that truly hear, eyes that really see. What I crave most is raw, wordless understanding. To feel life deeply and let others feel safe doing the same.”
It also gave me these prompts:
“I’m someone who’s always searching for genuine connection, especially the kind you don’t need words for.”
“I cry at moments of beauty and quiet trust—like locking eyes with a dog I love or hearing a raw voice in a song.”
“I carry a deep respect for the people and beings I’ve loved and lost, and I try to honour them by how I live.”
“I’ve learned to be strong through self-trust and a willingness to walk away from what doesn’t feel right—even when it’s lonely.”
“My joy lives in nature, stillness, shared stories, and the kind of warmth that needs no explanation.”
These words felt right. I just wanted to let you know incase you have lost yourself or forgotten where you came from. You are loved, and have always been loved. If you ever feel lost, help others. I love you.
