Dear FutureMe,
It’s the end of the school year and the kids are bouncing off the walls. They have limitless energy. They have bonded so tightly that they can’t stop chatting with each other every second of the day. Be proud of yourself for this. You have forged community. You have created an environment where they feel comfortable speaking up and sharing their thoughts. Remember at the beginning of the year when, with wide eyes, they sat silently at morning meeting? Now they listen to stories and laugh raucously. They finish their morning routine in 3 minutes. They can do their nap routine with their eyes closed. Your patience has paid off. Your consistency and dedication have come to fruition. And *this* is the thanks you get. lol. How they have grown! In a few short months, you will have a new class of wide-eyed, unsure, quieter kiddos. You will put on their bandaids and hold them when they cry as their mom leaves at drop off time. You will teach them and learn from them. You will love them. This is the life of a teacher. This is what you were made for!
Love you,
me
