A letter from May 08, 2025

Dear FutureMe, I hope college is treating you better than high school ever has. Remember the people you hate, and remember their actions beforehand so that you drop them as soon as possible. I hope you are still with Maelin, and if not, then I hope you can heal. I still love her, but I know things change in college. I hope we can get a pigeon and have enough money for Europe still. I hope this current president stops, and I hope we aren't in jail. I hope I am still doing art and still finding the communities where I fit best. I hope I have some friends right now, and I hope the dorm room isn't bad. I hope we can forget all that was bad to move on from it, and I better still be in therapy, but if not, then I hope I have someone to talk to. Remember to go to class and don't skip! We learned freshman year that it's a bad idea. I hope our parents can escape this place, and I hope Aidan is doing better. I hope you are having fun because I would like to escape this place so bad. I wish I were a better person, so I hope we can change to do so. I hope we no longer talk to most of the people here. I hope we have a little more confidence in our intelligence. Talk to people in person about hard topics. Please don't spend all my money that I am making right now. Please help mother and father in their lives. Find a job that pays well and pursue it. Don't let people make you side. I am tired of letting them. Don't overthink everything, and make sure you keep communication with Maelin so that we don't break up. I love Maelin, and I love my family, so keep them close. If Maelin is gone by the time you are reading this, then boooooooo. Keep in touch with middle school friends. Don't die. Don't die by your own hands. Just keep going. Live to see this letter and live to write another. Goodbye, future me. I will always be lucky for the connections I've made.
