To My Beloved Future Self (January 23rd, 2028),
It's me, you from a vibrant May afternoon in Kigali(First of all...Happy 28th birthday). Life feels like a mix of focused energy (that final year!), hopeful anticipation, and a few sweet secrets (especially those moments waiting for Wilson!).
In three years, I'll be so eager to know: Did our biggest dreams take flight? Did you and Wilson build that life we imagined? Are little ones a part of your world? Did we create that dream house, that sanctuary we long for? And are you thriving in a career that truly fulfills you?
I also hold vivid hopes for our graduation. Was it a day brimming with pride and joy? Who were the cherished faces in the crowd celebrating with us? And are there any particular gifts from that time that still hold a special place in your heart?
More than anything, my deepest wish for you is profound happiness. Please remember the lessons I'm learning now – the importance of self-compassion, the courage to embrace risks, and the value of experiences over possessions.
When you read this, take a moment to feel the warmth of this memory and the unwavering hope I hold for your future. I'm sending you all my love and eager anticipation for the incredible person you will have become.
With a heart full of hope,
Your Past Self (from May 8th, 2025, Kigali)
