A letter from May 04, 2025

Dear FutureMe, Date : 4th may (Maureen’s birthday), Time : 19:57 Currently : sat in Lorraine’s room in 238 KOD and your SIM card is no longer working So you’re using the HELL out of Lorraine’s hotspot. Song playing : champagne coast - blood orange Hi Yaa !!!! I really hope you’re ok ? I also really hope you stuck with gym and are twice as hotter as we are now ! I hope you and Lorraine and Tolu still speak more than regularly and are planning trips together around the world. Nothing stopped us when we were together in uni so nothing should stop you this year. Absolutely nothing. Quick recap though!! Right now you’re 12 days away from one of the most important meetings in your life. Your romantic life and *** life is beyond dead and you’re currently not a student at university but you DID get baptised on Easter Sunday this year and you have gotten really close with God. Despite many failed suicide attempts and really hard and dark times ? I really don’t know how but you’re still standing. The final straw recently was your phone being unable to work and you couldn’t even listen to music !!! so yeah :/ very dark times but you’re still here - typing this message to yourself as you speak / read this ? Idk but yeah. Umm I hope somehow we’re doing good in our mental health and I would hope that we have a great job somewhere and we’ve found our purpose in something we love. Whether that’s caring for NICU babies (as it is now) or something just as great or even greater for us. Even though it’s hard right now for us just know God is keeping us breathing, awake and alive for a reason. We’ve been through a lot and I have no doubt we will continue to do so … but now I understand that this is what shapes our lives and character. You’re a great person Yaa and don’t forget this and even though life has been **** it’s certainly had its good moments. It’s hard most days but I love you and I know right now looking back that you love me even with everything we’re going through — and whatever you’re going through right now !!? (God forbid anything worse or anything in general) but if ANYTHING you have got this. You always have. Love Yaa from 2025.
