A letter from Apr 22, 2025

Dear FutureMe, Last night was the last banquet, the last group of seniors, the last coaching with my son. What a great 30 year career I've enjoyed coaching soccer, my passion. I'll be reading this again in a year. How was the first year of retirement? Do you (me/I) want to go back to full-time teaching? Did subbing work out or was it a disaster? Do you miss coaching, the games the training the worrying about the boys? This is the biggest future me letter I ever wrote, the biggest change in my life for 30 years. What a run it was, and what is the next step like? This is all such a big mystery, the coming year. I have so much to be thankful for, and I have high hopes for the coming year of change. It is hard to have lived the same life for so long and not be a bit afraid of the change. We'll see....
