Dear FutureMe, By sheer coincidence, three distinct feminist victories fought by different activists in different cities collided on one day-August 10, 1970. The Equal Rights Amendment passed with wide margins in the US House of Representatives, feminists occupied the Statue of Liberty, and New York mayor John Lindsay signed a law banning the city's "Men's Only" bars and restaurants.
