A letter from Mar 31, 2025

Time Travelled — 6 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, So, that's finally it? First birthday out of school, I hope you spent the summer locking in. The next year is either going to be nightmarishly hard for you, or you will have gotten exceedingly lucky and found success in our creative ventures. I hope that you've finished Dive to the Deep by now, writing this in the spring has become rather difficult. I hope you've worked past all of the story that you're just writing to get from one point to another, or that you've figured out how to fill these chapters with something fantastically worthwhile. I hope you've found love by now, either within yourself, or with another, specifically her. You know who I'm talking about, and if you don't, then good on you for moving on and somehow finding someone in this community. I hope things either work out with her, or you survive the aftermath of rejection. These last couple months of school are going to be hard as hell, and frankly, I'm unsure if I'll make it. If you're reading this letter, then that's good, because that means I did make it. The drama, the constant exhaustion of everything, it gets to someone, I know that firsthand, and I hope it ends by the time I reach your time. Even in a small town like this, I find it comical that such dramatic things take place so often. People really never change, do they? Not at the core, at least, you're proof of that. I'll always be there. Even if your mindset changes, I will always be that little voice in the back of your head reminding you, grounding you in reality. I wish to be the wings you imagine unfurling, that which both grounds you, and allows you to fly. That which keeps you stable, from coming too close to the sun. Any such act, and I will be grateful. My consciousness now will follow you, and I hope that it aids you well.
