Dear FutureMe,
Life is super scary right now. You’re losing your job, you don’t know if you’re going to be ok or if your loved ones are going to be ok. Your boyfriend is leaving the country for work for 10 months and you don’t know a lot of people here. You are stressed about your studies and already falling behind. You’re trying to lose all the weight you gained in the last 4 years. You’re constantly tired because you’re constantly stressed. You have way too much on your plate with cat rescue because you don’t have an organisation or resources to help you as you did in the past.
Things don’t feel good. You’re really scared.
But you’re also a tiny bit hopeful. You hope losing this job opens the door to better, less stressful things. You hope you’ll recover from the fear, anxiety and emotional manipulation of the past few years. You hope that you’re finally breaking a longstanding pattern of people pleasing and giving in to people who don’t care about you and who only want to take from you, and standing up for yourself.
I hope you’re feeling better now. I hope you’re strong and thriving and that you have a stable, safe situation and you’re looking forward to the future, instead of fearing it. I hope he is back from his trip and telling you how valuable are. Heck, I hope you’re engaged by now. Are you happy? Are all your babies safe and healthy? Just remember how many terrible things you’ve survived. If you’re ok, and breathing, and your kitties are happy and safe, and your family is healthy and alive, you have everything you need. You have more than money can ever buy.
