Dear FutureMe,
Happy 15th birthday! (Imagine being 15 in the big 26....... Couldn't be me🥱) So basically I am NOT okay, but it's okay. That whole sentence contradicts itself but whatever.
I'm gonna give you a little refresher on our current situation right now:• Me and Kaden aren't really friends anymore• There WERE rumors that me and Tristan got back together (not true because wtf💔💔) • Mikey has a crush on me (the notorious one) • I have 9 missing assignments, and no access to social media (Tiktok and Instagram) • Diesel is still alive (THANK GOD) • A week and a half before spring break... And that's probably it. I can't tell if I'm like spiraling back into whatever I was in back in August when Tristan left me, or if I'm perfectly fine and I just have really weird mood swings. Either way, doesn't really matter.
Just making sure, you DID stay in San Antonio, right? Because all these questions are gonna be related to if you did. If you didn't.... womp womp idk
First question, obviously my top priority; Diesel. Are you two FINALLY together? You better be. For how long? Is he doing better now that you're there? Since you're probably moving after this school year, do you think you and him are gonna do long distance?(I mean personally, I'd hope so... I'm not sure if he could wait 3 years until you guys graduate to actually see each other again. To be fair, he did wait a year and 3 months to see you this year, and he waited for like half of 7th grade to date you since he realized a little too late he REALLY liked you.. Although 3 years is a really long time, it might be possible.)
Second question, I really feel like your evil exes (tristan and michael) are probably gonna haunt you forever, considering they both assume you cheated with Diesel... Do they bother you? If not them, do their friends bother you? If they are, just ignore them. If they're STILL talking about you after a year, they're the ones that need to move on.
Third question, who are your friends over at Pieper High? New ones? Same ones from Pieper Ranch and Bulverde? Right now we're friends with Madelyn, Jasmine, Eva (we don't talk much, but she's still our friend I hope..), Nathan, Michael, Tam, and Andres. I remember Ian (choi) saying he'd move back to San Antonio about now, so is he really there?
Fourth question, are we cool yet....💔 No but like genuinely do we actually have a good reputation under our name? One that isn't the one that Michael kept telling everyone?? I honestly doubt there's any saving my reputation since I've been here my whole life, but if it isn't bad, that's actually great..
Fifth question... are we working at that McDonald's by our house..? mom said i could...
this one I've been WAITING FOR..... do we still have parental controls...?? please bro you're in high school, theres NO WAY we still have to go to bed at 10:15💔
Okay this last one's gonna be a little more personal.. Same question as the last 2 letters, are you better now? Like, no more sad music for good?? I mean maybe not for good, sometimes it's good to cry. But like mentally, are you good? Because all that guilt you still have NEEDS to go. come on, it's been like a year or two by now, just let it go. I mean since we have Diesel this year, surely nothing could go wrong. Right?
I re read our 6th grade letter. Yknow what she said? "Coming from 6th grade you, I just trust you know what you're doing with our life. I hope we get the life we deserved in the first place. I hope you find a guy that makes you smile like Ian did if you and him aren't talking anymore. I hope your current friends are the best you could ask for, that they never leave you out, always talk to you, and always make sure you're ok. That's true friends right there."I feel like she'd be a little shocked at the direction our life is going, but I feel like her wishes were granted. To an extent at least. I found a guy that makes me smile just like Ian probably did. My friends aren't perfect, but they still care about me regardless. But I feel like the type of people she described, the type of people that she wanted to surround herself with, I found that all in one person. Diesel. I genuinely believe we could last a long time. I don't want to tell him, because I'm not sure about his plans for the future. All I know is that I want him to be in my future. You wanna know what I said in the beginning of 8th grade? "Just know you're doing so well, and I'm proud of you. No matter where you are. Your friends are probably proud of you too."Now you wanna know what I wanna say? Make the most of this year. I mean I know you're getting this on your birthday, but if you haven't already, make the last 3-4 months here worth it. If you won't stay for a bit of 10th grade, that is. If you haven't for some reason.. have that first kiss, present that dumb looking project with all the confidence you have, perform like you won't get to do it tomorrow, ACTUALLY GET GOOD GRADES, and PLEASE... take pictures. Take videos. Anything. If you haven't already, do it. This is probably the most important year of your life, the last year you'd ever get to be in the same school with any of your friends. You should be able to look back in 3 years, and get a good idea of what it was like. In fact, you should remember it like it was yesterday. I know you've always hated taking pictures because of our mom, but get used to doing it more often. Please. We'll be thanking ourselves in our senior year when we're missing our home town. You got this.
