A letter from Feb 23, 2025

Dear FutureMe, Hello again! Today is 23rd of February 2025, at 22:46pm. This is my 4th or 5th year writing this letter since I started in around 2020. I recently got my year's old message from February 11th 2024 and have been trying to find the time to do another for 2026. It's always so refreshing and special seeing how much I've grown every year. It also feels so weird to see what I used to be interested and lowkey cringe out on stuff I felt was so important back then LMAO. Last year was my first year of uni, now I'm in my second! I'm still at Paddock Fields, because I couldn't find my crowd in first year and I am happier for it. I'm in Flat 28 and although it's quiet and boring sometimes, I love being right on the edge of the campus because it's peaceful, green and bonus point, sometimes I see bunnies right outside my window hopping around and chewing on grass!! It's so adorable and special and I hope I still have those adorable pics of them on my digital cameras. But yeah, when you're reading this, you will most likely (and hopefully) be in your 3rd year of university finallyyyy!! I am 100 percent proud of myself for making it today. As you know, last year, I switched from studying Primary Education to just doing Education. It was nerve wracking to do that in the summer of 2024, but it was so necessary. I got diagnosed with dyscalculia and that pretty much sealed the deal against teaching anything to do with maths lol. How's the course doing now? You're so close to graduating most probably, and probably beginning/writing your dissertation, and I wish you the best of luck and I am reminding you that you got this. Just one last push to have a degree, something that many people consider a milestone in life and a blessing. Right now, I am completing the last 2 essays for my course, one on placement and one for placement research. I am finding it tricky to balance and focus 100 percent, but everyday I am trying my hardest to find the ways to get through it. How did they go? Especially the research as I am feeling the most stressed about that. I got two marks back for my comparative education module, the first I've ever done after my module switch and got 71/100, and 73/100. REALLLY GOOD GRADES! I am proud and I hope I got similar or better results for both my equality essay and the one on research methods. I am proud of myself for putting my all into both of them. The song 'come into my arms' by November Ultra is so befitting to these times lol. Writing to the future self is so cool. Right now my favourite songs are: - '30 for 30' by SZA and Kendrick Lamar - 'Another Life' by SZA - 'Kitchen' by SZA - 'luther' by SZA and Kendrick Lamar - 'Darling, I' and 'Thought I was Dead' by Tyler the Creator - RIIVERDANCE, TYRANT, SWEET HONEY BUCKIN, YAYA, SPAGETTI all by Beyonce!!! - The entire Homecoming album by Beyonce. I'm so excited for my upcoming concerts this summer!! TYLER, JORJA SMITH, BEYONCE, LANA, BILLIE, SZA AND KENDRICK AND CHAPPELLE ROAN! All in one summer, in that order. I hope we went to all of them and had a ******* blastttt, and how was BEYONCE! That's who I'm the most excited for, literally the Queen Bee herself... I love Cowboy Carter and I'm happy I have the chance rnnn lol. What did I wear to everything!! OH and how was Greece?? Just over a month until I go there in the Easter holidays after a month of placement!! A break will be much needed and I am so so so so excited for all the pics, sights to see, food, the hotel, the water, the beaches, the relaxation?? I hope I savoured every moment from Gatwick Airport to the last plane backkk literally. I love Greece and it's such a dream come true to say I've been there for a week. So excited for them outfit pics rn after being stressed rn trying to decide my SHEIN and ASOS orders loool. How was the whole year of 2025 in itself.... a whole year onwards? How is our new baby Isaiah, I just saw him after a month again yesterday and he's grown so much, it's already crazy to think he'll be WALKING when you get this!! I bet he's even more precious and adorable and I love him sooo much ahhh. What book are you reading? Last year at this time it was Virgin Suicides, I am reading 'The Break' by Marian Keyes which I'm demolishing and loving on the way to my placement everyday and every evening lol, it's really juicy. How was placement tooooo? Did you have a good time in the end? So far so good for me, I am back tomorrow after half-term and it's been manageable and good so far. Everyone is nice and I have genuinely been enjoying myself, settling in before I have to complete the research. Still playing woozworld and sims? I was this time LMAO, I have almost 500 hours on Sims AS I HAVE BEEN ADDDICTEDDD, but it's so fun now with my new city living and pets, and cottagecore packs. Love ittt. You're 21 now, officially in my 20s and how does it feel? Happy belated birthday againnnn, and I hope you enjoyed celebrating it :)) Everyone in the family is ok, and obviously we had a new unexpected addition but by the time you read this you will have another!! (Auntie Korkor's new babyyy, is it a boy or girl?? and how is she!!) <3 and ofc the munchkins, Sam, Jesse and Uriel, I hope and pray they have a new house now. Do you have a boyfriend? LMAOOOO it's been such a **** show these past few months with situationships and awkward relations but I'm genuinely curious rn. Not that you need one but it would be nice. I went to Turkey last year but not Cornwall. Maybe another time, but I'd much rather visit new countries like Italy, Brazil, Morocco, Cyprus, the South of France rather than stay in here. I wonder if you have a trip booked to celebrate your graduation baby!! I am so looking forward to walking across the stage in the cap and gown and say good riddance to my uni era and hello to the student debt (but I'll be one degree hotter anyways) This song is so nostalgic too that just came on 'Hate That' by Winslow House. I love music and how it makes me feel. No longer going to church rn as I felt like an outcast in every situation. How's that going though. Also, did you lose much weight? Has anything changed in your body? I hope I'm happier and healthier, genuinely. A lot can change in a year and I hope it does but I don't know how. Any new jobs? Maybe my 4th job at Boots, lol Wow, I'm at 1187 words already lol, this is a whole essay. I just love writing and I have a lot to say as per usual. Am I still scrapbooking and journalling? I love those hobbies so much and will treasure them. They're the best. I don't know what else to ask. I gotta go to bed soon so I get enough rest for placement tomorrow! I just hope I'm happy, healthy and I urge you to keep going no matter what you're doing. You're doing amazing, you're a fighter and opportunities always miraculously open up for you in life because you deserve it. It is not by luck. It's meant for me.
