Dear Future Me,
I hope you’re doing well. Right now, I’m feeling stretched thin—time feels like it slips through my fingers, and I struggle to balance work, self-care, and personal relationships. But I’m trying. I booked my first therapy appointment, and I hope you stuck with it. Have you? If not, this is your reminder to check in with yourself and restart if needed.
You’ve been working hard, and I know you believe in what you do. The burnout is real, but I hope you’ve found ways to make the burden lighter. Maybe mentoring has brought some joy, maybe the fight against cancer still fuels you. But please—tell me you’ve also been making time for you. Are you eating better? Moving more? Are you resting?
Family is still important to me, and I hope you've kept up with the calls and monthly visits. It’s hard, but you know it matters. Have you strengthened those bonds?
And what about the book club? Reading has been a great escape—have you kept that joy alive? If not, pick up a book again.
I know things aren’t perfect, but I hope you’re taking small wins where you can. Keep going, but don’t lose yourself in the process.
With love and hope,
Your Past Self
