dear me,
hey, how are you? no, really—how are you? are you finally walking on your own now? are you out there living the life you once thought was impossible? did you finally feel okay again? i HOPE so. i hope u’re reading this and smiling, shaking your head because you can’t believe how much has changed.
a year ago, you were full of doubts. you kept telling yourself maybe things won’t get better. but guess what: you made it through. all those nights you spent crying, all those days u felt stuck in the same painful cycle—it didn’t last forever, did it?
but let’s be real, u’re probably still rolling your eyes at life sometimes. i know u. you’re dramatic like that. but i hope you’ve learned to be kinder to yourself. i hope you don’t blame yourself for things beyond 'our' control anymore. i hope you see how much you’ve grown, how much strength you’ve built—not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, spiritually.
remember when u used to miss the simple things? walking freely, commuting, random mall dates, just being out there? i hope u’re doing all that again, and more. i hope u’ve done something wild, something exciting, something that reminds you u’re alive.
and if u’re still figuring things out, if u’re still healing in ways you didn’t expect—that’s okay. healing isn’t a deadline, it’s a process. what matters is you kept going. and that’s why i’m proud of u.
see you in a year! keep proving yourself wrong.
always rooting for you,
me, from the past
