Dear FutureMe,
I am writing this with such a heaviness on my heart. I really cannot fathom what the world around me looks like a year from now because since January 21 it has become more and more dire.
I'm sitting in my grey chair watching Little House on the Prairie. I needed a show to just bring me comfort and probably nostalgia when I was a little girl. I'm drinking tea and contemplating all I need to do today.
I was thinking back and two years ago today we had to put Casper down. his kidney issues progressed and with his age of 19 years, it was time to peacefully let him go. it was right before my 50th birthday. It took me months to not feel as if I should have tried harder for him. I still miss my Casp-casp. I stayed up crying for days after his passing. He was and will forever by my love bug.
Today is a Sunday and weather is nice for a winter day. I will be cleaning and then running out to buy me a birthday outfit or something. I'm just trying to get the motivation to move.
I am feeling helpless because Trump has taken over the country and with Elon Musk they are ripping apart every thing. He is doing so many illegal things that go against the constitution. He is actively removing historical documents and trying to create a white world where women and everyone else that is not a rich white man subserviant. Diversity has become some ugly word and it's being removed from all federal offices. NASA had to remove their women in NASA page. Tuskegee Airmen have their website removed from linked to anything. The Army's Women Museum is also removed so it's difficult to find. That is just the basics. Musk has access to our National Treasury, USAID, Dept of Education, and many other important agencies. This South African racist that has not been sworn in has been placed in charge of DOGE. He even did a Nazi salute. Nazis and the KKK are crawling out of the dirt. Cincinnati had a group show up in Lincoln Heights but ran as the black community showed up. Video of the police helping them is out there. Those that work forces are the same that burn crosses.
Okay, good things to focus on. Alan and I are happy and starting a move to Virginia. Autumn and Paul are engaged. Matthew and Syd seem to be doing great. Wendeline has brought new energy into our home and has Rocky moving a lot more. My birthday is 2 days away. I have the best teacher teammate with Jazzmin. I love working at JT Barber even though it's challenging and more obstacles to come for education. The sun is out. We live comfortably. Stephanie is still the bestest friend in my life. My bubble is what I am protecting. I am also starting to become more active within the Democratic Party to take more action.
I will write more of these letters. I hope when I read this a year from now that the country will right the wrongs that are going on and MAGA has been crushed.
Now back to watching Little House before I get up and get busy.
