Time Travelling — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, I am well aware of my tendencies to become numb to the present. Often the storm in my head takes weeks to settle, but I urge you not to forget that clarity, that calm understanding that precedes it. Though you haven’t thought of me for some time now, you constantly occupy my thoughts. I want you to know that I love you. I want you to go to bed every night content with a fully belly of food that you enjoyed eating, with your arms wrapped around the stuffed toys that comforted you during the nightmares of your childhood, that are now connecting every version of you. I don’t want you to forget that you are still a little girl who adores painting and exploring nature. A little girl who is strong in her convictions. A little girl who wraps herself in the clothing she loves, proud of her style and not needing validation outside of her own crooked smile. Never compromise. You owe it to yourself and those who love you. Never doubt that you matter or that you can’t make a difference in the lives of others. Your life is what you make of it. Be gentle to yourself and to your fellow travelers. Life is a long winding road with new realities that you could never anticipate. But it’s worth it, keep loving Jehovah and keep being that stubborn little girl. Much love, Alison
