Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Brian, As you read this letter a year from now, take a moment to pause and reflect on where you are am and how far you’ve come. This is a note from your past self, reminding you of the person you were and the dreams you held dear. Some of my skills that i learnt or polished through the NOREC Exchange included: 1. Health expertise 2. Teaching and mentoring: facilitating health-related life skills sessions, particularly for youth. 3. Missionary service: experience in cross-cultural missions sharpened my adaptability and strengthened my faith. 4. Leadership: Initiated projects like the AfyaBora Tournament, coordinated church activities, and led Bible study sessions. 5. Sports evangelism: My Goals In The Next 1-5 years include: 1. Serve marginalized communities through meaningful work in the NGO or humanitarian sector. 2. Continue building your capacity in public health, especially in maternal and child health and youth ****** health. 3. Grow spiritually and deepen your walk with God through prayer, study, and service. 4. Strengthen relationships with family, friends, and those you serve. My Dreams Include: 1. To see communities empowered with knowledge and access to better health services. 2. To create safe spaces where young people can thrive, grow, and come to know Jesus. 3. To contribute to breaking cycles of poverty through education, health, and spiritual growth. 4. To leave a legacy of faithfulness, kindness, and dedication in the lives you touch. My Experiences Include: This past year, I: 1. Lived and worked in Yumbe District, Northern Uganda, navigating challenges with resilience and faith. 2. Witnessed God’s hand in your efforts to improve health outcomes through the AfyaBora Project. 3. Engaged deeply in sports evangelism and youth ministry, making meaningful connections. 4. Learned lessons about cultural adaptation, teamwork, and the power of perseverance. 5. Returned home to Kenya for a season of rest and debriefing, reflecting on your journey. I am grateful for: 1. The opportunity to serve and learn through missions. 2. The support of friends and partners. 3. The faithfulness of God in providing for my needs, guiding my steps, and strengthening my heart. 4. The love and encouragement of my family. 5. The growth I've experienced through challenges and victories. As you step into the future, keep trusting God to lead you. Remember the lessons of humility, patience, and joy that have shaped you. Keep dreaming big and working faithfully toward the calling He has placed on your life.
