Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Ate Ica,
you, too, have felt the rushing and cold breeze of the night after the long warmth of the morning, and faced it with a heavy heart you could barely lift. your face, unable to hide your blues, and your flushed nose telling of how you've just sunk deep into the waters of your woes.
you, too, have mourned for the losses and deeply felt the sorrows, the cries of every moment leaving like vapor that vanishes forever. how precious are your memories, but your mind is a cup that cannot sustain the vastness of the ocean. knowing you can't hold everything in your hands makes it all the heavier—a burden for the things you couldn't carry or understand.
you, too, have sought answers to mend what's broken, searching for something to fill the emptiness you feel right now. everything around you has witnessed what has passed as time moves forward, and perhaps, what you've already forgotten.
you, too, have wondered and searched for answers, asking why the sudden blues and emptiness overwhelm you. was it because you couldn't linger longer in the seasons before they left, or was it because the once-precious things are now fading into forgotten memories?
sadness, somehow, is a mystery. it could come to you as joy, or as misery.
but without misery, we wouldn't understand happiness.
you, too, have witnessed every season.
you, too, have seen spring leaves fall, leaving the trees bare. you, too, have seen the colors fade when flowers in the garden begin to wither. you, too, have felt what it means to lose someone dear, knowing sadness so well it becomes a part of you.
that's why i know you understand. when tears fall, when hearts are heavy, when sleep is elusive, and when something precious slips away.
that's why i know you understand this, too: after every ending, there is a beginning. after the night ends, there is a morning waiting—a promise to meet after all things come to their close.

Your coolest sister in Christ, Keisha Mayenne Radin (Ein)
