Dear FutureMe,
The current song playing is "How to disappear" by Lana Del Rey, one of our favorite artists. Spending another New Years Eve alone in my bed, but that's okay because writing these letters has become some sort of tradition for me. Now it's time to unpack the year. January me would be so surprised if she knew what December me would be like. For the past couple of years I have been talking about who I would "hope" to see myself with, but for this one I am only writing to you. I hope that you are
100% liking college now, not just on the weekends or when the coursework is easy. You have spent too much money to be somewhere you hate. Don't spend too much time worrying about a relationship, you've been in one just about every year since you were 13. Working at Outback has been amazing, and I hope you are closer to everyone know that you've been with the company for over a year now. I hope the pre-nursing major is doing well. Having a 3.5 GPA is wonderful, but you have been too accustomed to a 5-point scale in high school which makes you think that a 3.5 is below average. The next song that came on is "Picture Me Better" by Weyes Blood, another favorite. I hope you're still writing whenever you have the time because it can be a real stress reliever and distraction from the outside world on that silly website. By the time you receive this letter we'll almost be 20 years old, which is extremely moving because for some time, we barely thought we would make it past 12. Love your family and get over the resentment, life is too short. Enjoy the moments you have with everyone because life is too short. Take care of yourself and do not dwell on the past, there is nothing you could've done to go back and make sure that your ex wasn't still in love with her ex while the two of you were together. Anyways, enjoy the sunshine, because you are the sun. Love you lots.
