Dear Futureme,
2024 has been a roller coaster of emotions. You started this year studying both your studies, then decided it was better to put the bachelor on hold for a year, primarily to focus on your physical and mental health alongside one of your study peograms. When summer arrived you worked as a social worker the entire summer. You were diligent and paid off your car loan.
You started on your weight loss journey in the mid of August, starting at 113 kgs. By the time you wrote this letter to your future self, Dec 31st 2024, your current weight was 99,4 kgs. You reached your two first milestones! You already went from 130 kgs to 99,4 kgs. Well done! You're currently hoping to reach 85 kgs within the next 6 months to be eligible for a ****** reduction surgery. You already did so well improving your physical health, and by the time you read this letter you've hopefully achieved your goal and recovering from the surgery, living a more fulfilling life with increased confidence and feeling better in your body. Be proud of yourself.
You also felt seen by your doctor this year, and had 4 sessions with a psychology specialist. Turns out you have massive anxiety combined with depression, and PTSD. You feel relieved that you finally received some answers, but you're nervous about the treatment you're hopefully starting in the beginning of 2025 related to your anxiety. You're currently motivated, but doubtful whether your anxiety can be cured. You believe in yourself but it's a challenging journey. By the time you read this letter you will most likely feel like a different and healthier you, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally.
You have a supportive boyfriend throughout this journey, both emotionally and financially, giving you space to focus on your health and study. You two have talked about getting engaged, and he already bought a ring, your favorite diamond ring. He hasn't proposed yet, but said he's planning to propose to you before you return to continue your bachelor in January 2025. Imagine, when you read this letter, you've almost been engaged for a year! Remember to celebrate that love, never take it for granted.
In December you worked on your project exam and portfolio in graphic design. You passed your project exam with the letter grade A and your portfolio this semester with the letter grade B. Excellent results and achievement! You have officially graduated graphic design with only excellent results, and call call yourself a graphic designer. Remember to give yourself space to celebrate your achievements before moving on to other projects. You deserve to celebrate your victories, whether how small or big they are.
I could go into details about this year, but I wanted to focus on the major events, both the challenges and the rewards. If anything, this letter should remind you of the important memories. You strive to be more positive and give yourself more grace in life. You have goals and ambitions, and dreams you want to achieve. You're unsure how far it will take you, if you can fulfill them. But rest assured dear futureme, life has a way to work it's magic, and what's meant to be will become. Have faith in yourself and enjoy the ride. Learn and grow to become the best version of yourself and never stop loving and showing kindness. You got this! Repeat after me: "I believe in myself".
PS. Don't forget to write yourself a new letter to your future self after receiving this letter. I want to read more about your future experiences. Much love from pastme
