A letter from December 24th, 2024

Time Travelled — over 1 year

Peaceful right?

Dear love that never came to be,It’s time to set you free from me.I’ve held on tight, too long, too deep,To dreams that only hurt and weep.
I gave you my heart, you couldn’t take,And built my hope on a fragile ache. But love, unreturned, is a lonely fight,A shadow longing for the light.
So here I stand, with trembling hands,Letting go of my broken plans. The new year calls, the past must fade,From this heart where your ghost was made.
No more will I dwell on what we weren’t,Or mourn the lessons love has learnt.I’ll rise from this sorrow, stronger still,Reclaim my peace, my soul, my will.
So farewell, to you and all we weren’t,To the bridges burned and lessons learnt. This is my closure, my final goodbye,I let you go, and with it, I’ll fly.
